Hello Fellow Umpires,
The time is here for all officials who wish to travel to apply for a Western Championship, Canadian Championship or the Canada Cup. To apply please fill out the application form below. Umpires who registered in both and 2023 and 2024 are eligible for Western and Canadian Championships. The deadline for this application is 4:00 pm Friday, March 7, 2025.
CRITERIA:
- 2025 Western Canadians - To be eligible for a 2025 Western Canadian Championship, umpires must have registered with Softball Canada in 2023 and 2024 and be a complete Level II or III. Complete requires both theory and practical with an evaluation from 2023 or 2024.
- 2025 Canada Cup - To be eligible for a 2025 Canada Cup, umpires must have registered with Softball Canada in 2023 and 2024 and be a complete Level II or III. Complete requires both theory and practical with an evaluation from 2023 or 2024.
- 2025 Canadian Championships - To be eligible for a 2025 Canadian Championship, umpires must have registered with Softball Canada in 2023 and 2024, and be a complete Level III, IV or V. Complete requires both theory and practical with an evaluation from 2023 or 2024. If travelling to a U19 or above championship, fitness test results must be provided with this application.
- Championships requiring a minimum of a complete Level IV Certification - Women's FP, Men's U23 FP, Men's & Masters Men's FP and Men's SP and Women's SP Canadian Championships.
- Umpires selected to travel must meet the following obligations in the current calendar year (2025).
- support the fundraising efforts of the UDC
- officiate at the entirety of the Provincial Championship assigned by the UDC. You will be made aware of this assignment in advance.
- Successful applicants must sign an Umpire Agreement to confirm your travel assignment. If you are not able to commit to the obligations listed above, your travel assignment may be cancelled.
- Successful applicants must also provide Softball Manitoba was a valid and clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check both obtained within the past five (5) years.
The UDC will award travel assignments on March 17, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.
